Art and Design + A Green Agenda = The Brilliant Los Angeles based company, Common Studio. Designers Kim Karlstrud and Daniel Phillips have successfully placed gum ball style machines with seed bombs in cool coffee shops and green friendly locations across the country.
Along with their other green design projects their hope is to turn Any Ole’ Body into a Guerrilla Gardener.
What is a Seed Bomb you ask? A ball of stuff made from clay, compost, and seeds. These little balls can be dropped anywhere from sidewalk cracks, vacant lots, and parking medians to “green up” any urban space. As FastCompany.Com quotes “Greenaid Fosters Johnny Appleseeds for the 21st-Century”

Guerilla Gardening, is a fun and easy project to do as a class, community group or with your hommies. Kim and Daniel were kind enough to send some bombs (and a slingshot!) and I’ll do a green aid project update as the seeds grow.
