I am often asked, what is my favorite Beija-Flor Naturals fragrance, and I have to say Blackberry Sage is within my top 3 of all time. The herbal berry fragrance is the perfect blend of fruity and sultry, and I just can’t get enough! This fragrance is now re-stocked in the Beija-Flor Naturals Store and I am excited to share a Blackberry Sage cocktail recipe that is sure to brighten your weekend. It goes like this…
You’ll need:
4 sage leaves
6 blackberries (organic is best)
.5 oz simple syrup
.5 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
1.5 oz gin
crushed ice
club soda
Muddle the sage leaves and simple syrup together in the bottom of a mixing glass. Muddling releases the essence of the herb into the drink. You can use the back of a spoon, mortar and pestle type contraption or an actual Muddler If you’re fancy.
Add the blackberries and muddle some more, until the berries are mostly liquid. Add 4-5 ice cubes. Add the lemon juice and gin over the ice and stir. Strain into a collins glass. Fill the glass about halfway with crushed ice and top with a bit of club soda. More for a smoother (more dilute) drink, less if you like booze a lot.
And that’s it. Easy Peasy
